Today, proceed towards Pahalgam, the ‘Valley of Shepherds’ which is situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from the River Lidder and Sheshnag Lake, en route visit the Awantipura Ruins.
The ancient township of Awantipura founded by King Awantiwarman (855-883 AD) is renowned for the impressive ruins of the two temple complexes he built here in the 9th century namely Awantisvamin, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and Avantisvara, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Both the temples reflect Greek style of architecture.

Today, post breakfast; visit Chandanwari, situated at a distance of 16 km from Pahalgam.
Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, which takes place every year in the months of Sawan (Rain), from July to August. Lying at an elevation of about 9,590 ft. above sea level, its snow covered mountains and breath-taking scenic beauty attracts numerous visitors. Famous for its snow bridge, which besides providing picturesque views, is also the perfect place for snow sledging. The area, besides serving as an important pilgrimage site of the Hindus, is also an idyllic picnic spot and provides ample opportunities for activities such as trekking, hiking, pony and palanquin ride.
This morning, proceed to Gulmarg - the ‘Meadow of Flowers’, an apt term for this idyllic flower-laden spot, offering a spectacular view of towering snow capped peaks covered with dense forests of tall conifers, gigantic firs and pine trees. On arrival, check-in to the hotel.

In the afternoon, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Srinagar visiting places like the Shankaracharya Temple, Chashme Shahi Gardens, Shalimar Gardens and Nishat Bagh.
Shankaracharya Temple – It situated at a height of about 1,100 ft. on a hilltop on the southeast of the city, offers splendid views of the valley and the snow-capped mountains of the Pir Panjal range. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is believed that this Hindu temple was built in 371 BC, making it one of the oldest in the valley of Kashmir.
Chashme Shahi Gardens - An ancient garden established in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan, is considered to be one of the smallest Mughal gardens in Srinagar. Divided into three different sections with an aqueduct, waterfalls and fountains, it provides magnificent views of the Himalayas and the Dal Lake.
Shalimar Gardens (also known as garden of love) - Situated 15 km from Srinagar, is one of the most popular Mughal gardens in the city. It has four terraces, rising one above the other, fitted with fountains and chinar (sycamore) trees.
Nishat Garden – It is situated on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains forming its backdrop. Also known as the garden of bliss, it was laid out in 1633 by Asaf Khan, the elder brother of Nur Jahan. Designed in Persian style, this is a 12-terrace garden interspersed with fountains, colourful flowerbeds and lush green lawns.

Today, embark on a full day excursion tour to Sonmarg; admirably known as the ‘meadow of gold’.
It is an alpine valley situated on the bank of Nallah Sindh River at an elevation of 2,800 metres above sea level. Sindh River indulges the activity of fishing especially during summers. This river bed is a popular breeding ground for trout and mahseer fishes. Transfer back to the hotel in Srinagar.
